SONA Presents Synergy Playground: A Day for Our Neighbours

On Friday, 14 August, TAETS Art and Event Park welcomes the local community to Synergy Playground: a free afternoon filled with creativity, music, movement and connection.

Although we live close to one another, meaningful encounters between different generations and cultures do not always happen naturally. Synergy Playground aims to change that by creating an accessible and welcoming environment where neighbours of all ages can meet, participate and enjoy the afternoon together.

Rather than simply watching, visitors are invited to create, dance and play. This year’s programme includes two special activities designed to bring people together.

Create a Giant Chimera

During the Chimera Workshop, children, parents and families will work alongside artists to transform a ten-metre-long sheet of paper into a colourful fantasy creature.

Everyone is encouraged to contribute their own ideas, colours and shapes. Once completed, the giant paper chimera will be brought to life during a festive parade, a shared creation made by the neighbourhood.

Het Danspaleis

Het Danspaleis invites older residents and everyone else who loves to dance onto the dance floor. Its experienced DJ will play timeless favourites, ranging from rock-’n-roll and English waltzes to music by artists such as Johnny Hoes, Louis Prima, Lieve Hugo and Doris Day.

An Afternoon for the Entire Neighbourhood

Synergy Playground is open to participants and visitors of all ages. All creative materials will be provided, while snacks and drinks will be available throughout the afternoon. Fresh coffee will also be served for parents, supervisors and older visitors.

Whether you join us to create, dance, meet your neighbours or simply enjoy a drink together, everyone is welcome. Participation is completely free.
